The city of Trabzon is one of the largest cities in the East Karadeniz region of Turkey. The city of Trabzon served as an independent state or kingdom for several periods in its very long history, ruling a vast area from Sinop in the west to Georgia in the east, including even territory in Crimea. In Turkey, Trabzon is known as a fairly friendly city, always energetic, traditional and also patriotic, which is culturally a bit different from the rest of the country.
History of Trabzon
The city of Trabzon was founded around 756 BC by Greek invaders from Sinope, who came from Miletus. They called their new colony the Trapezoid, ancient Greek for “table”, because of the topography of a central hill, wedged between two rivers with steep cliffs on either side.
Trabzon has been a major trading center throughout history for a very long time, it was a major port on one of the main routes between Europe and Persia and beyond, which involved taking ships across the Black Sea from Romania.
After the Roman conquest, the city was built a new port and paved roads to Persia.

Tourist attraction
Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye) is a bi-continental country: while geographically most of the country is located in Europe, most of its population and land area is established in Asia.
The Ottoman Empire was the final great Islamic empire, lasting from 1299 to 1922, and it was that empire which finally wrested control of Constantinople from Christendom.
Turkey gives a wealth of destination varieties to travelers: from dome-and-minaret filled horizon of Istanbul to Roman ruins along the western and southern beaches, from heavily indented coastline against a mountainous backdrop of Lycia and wide and sunny beaches of Pamphylia to cold and snowy mountains of the East, from crazy “foam parties” of Bodrum to Middle Eastern-flavored cities of Southeastern Anatolia, from verdant misty hills of Eastern Black Sea to wide steppe landscapes of Central Anatolia, there is something for everyone’s feeling—whether they be travelling on an extravagant budget by riding or by a multi-million boat.
